Overnight and Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted at least 25 Palestinians, including former political prisoners, in several parts of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Detainees Committee and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said in a joint statement that the Israeli soldiers invaded various parts of the occupied West Bank, before storming and ransacking homes, causing severe damage.
They added that most of the abductions took place in Nablus and Jenin, while the soldiers also abducted many Palestinians in Bethlehem, Hebron, Tubas, and Jerusalem, and that the soldiers also assaulted many Palestinians.
They said the Israeli army abducted more than 8425 Palestinians since October 7, 2023, mostly from their homes, in addition to many who were taken at military roadblocks and those who had to surrender to the army after the soldiers took hostage members of their families, including father and mothers.
They also stated that the Israeli army is refusing to release information regarding the conditions of the detainees or where they are held and is even not releasing information about detainees from the Gaza Strip who died from torture and abuse.
The invasions and abductions led to protests in several parts of the West Bank before the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs, causing several injuries, especially in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, where the soldiers also assaulted an entire family while ransacking their home.
During the Beit Ummar invasion, the soldiers abducted two siblings, Mohammad, 27, and Mo’men Mustafa Abu Maria, 22, and assaulted several Palestinians, causing various injuries.
The soldiers also closed Atara and Ein Sinia military roadblocks, northwest of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and prevented the Palestinians from crossing, in addition to increasing the restrictions on the Tayasir military roadblock, east of Tubas in the northeastern West Bank.
