Israeli special forces assassinated, on Wednesday, a Palestinian customs officer, and shot another young man in the city of Tubas, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
On Wednesday morning, undercover Israeli agents (Musta’aribin) infiltrated the city of Tubas, followed by military reinforcements from the Tayasir checkpoint, northeast of the city.
Media sources said that undercover Israeli soldiers opened fire with live ammunition at a member of the customs police, who was walking in front of the police building.
Sources added that the army prevented ambulance crews from reaching the injured man for several hours.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that they transported the body of the citizen, Abdel Nasser Sarhan, 23, to the Turkish Government Hospital in the city.
The PRCS added that the soldiers shot another young man in the chest with live rounds; his wounds were deemed as moderate.
The funeral for the slain Sarhan, a citizen of the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, began in front of the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus.
Mourners marched to his family’s home in the Balata camp, where loved ones said their last goodbyes before performing the funeral prayer at the local mosque and laying his body to rest in the camp cemetery.
