A Palestinian young man died, on Wednesday, as a result of the Israeli army’s attack on the Tulkarem camp in the northwestern part of the West Bank, on Tuesday, which killed five citizens.
On Wednesday morning, medical sources at the Al-Israa Specialized Hospital reported that the young man, Yazan Mahmoud Abdo, 23, died from a live gunshot wound to the chest.
Israeli forces assassinated five Palestinians with a drone strike, on Tuesday, killing five citizens in the Al-Hamam neighborhood in the camp, bringing the number of slain citizens in the Tulkarem camp to six.
On Wednesday, the funeral processions for three of the slain citizens, including a woman and a child, were held in the Tulkarem governorate.
In the city of Tulkarem, mourners gathered in front of the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital and carried the bodies of the woman, Eman Abdullah Salem, 56, and Yazan Mahmoud Abdo, 23, to their homes in the Tulkarem camp.
Loved ones said their final goodbyes, before performing the funeral prayer at the Al-Salam Mosque in the camp, and laying them to rest in the martyrs’ cemetery in the suburb of Thanaba, east of the city.
Meanwhile, the funeral procession for the body of the slain child, Saif Ziyad Ali Amir, 13, was held in the town of Bal’a, east of Tulkarem.
The body of the slain child was carried to his family’s home where loved ones said their last goodbyes, proceeding to the Al-Khader Mosque where funeral prayers were performed, burying him in the Bal’a Martyrs’ Cemetery.
Media sources said that eleven Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the last 24 hours, including seven in the Tulkarem governorate, and four others in the governorates of Tubas, Hebron, and Jerusalem.
In a statement by the Palestinian Health Ministry, the death toll has risen to 589 killed, including 142 children, in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023.
