On Friday, day 257 of the ongoing genocide by Israeli forces against the besieged and devastated Palestinian population of 2.2 million people in the Gaza Strip, Israeli missiles and shells continued to rain down on the people of Gaza.

A young man was killed and others were injured on Friday morning when Israeli warplanes bombed tents for displaced people inside Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.

A number of citizens were killed and others were injured in an Israeli bombardment on Gaza City at dawn on Friday. Local sources confirmed that the occupation aircraft targeted the Abu Shanab family’s house on Hamid Street, west of Gaza City, which led to the death of a number of martyrs and the injury of others.

Separately, five Palestinians were injured at dawn on Friday, when the Israeli occupation forces shelled an inhabited house in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation’s artillery shelling continues east of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip by land, sea and air since October 7, 2023, resulting in the killing of 41,534 citizens and the injury of 96,092 others, most of whom are children and women, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of missing people are still under the rubble and ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.

Among the slain Palestinians are at least 16,640 children, 11,410 women, 183 journalists and 23 emergency responders, 885 medical staff, 82 Civil Defense staff, and 211 UNRWA staff.

The British Lancet Medical Journal and other experts estimate the death toll in Gaza is much higher – and could be above 200,000, when counting both direct and indirect deaths related to the Israeli war on Gaza.

This most recent escalation of Israel’s ongoing military occupation of Palestine began October 7th 2023 when 1,143 Israelis were killed, including 767 civilians and 376 armed soldiers. Around 500 Israeli soldiers have been killed between October 7th and now – both in Gaza and on the Israeli border with Lebanon.
