The Israeli army has carried out a large-scale military operation across the Nablus area and its refugee camps, in the north of the West Bank, in the early hours of Monday morning. The operation ended with over 20 Palestinians abducted by Israeli army.
Sources reported at least 30 military vehicles, reinforced by armored bulldozers, invaded the city from several directions, while opening heavy gunfire at residents homes, seemingly at random. Troops invaded homes, and damaged civilians’ property before seizing at least 20 Palestinians.
Local sources said that the operation targeted the al-Ein and Askar al-Jadeed refugee camps. Among those abducted were Hatem al-Damouny, Marwan Hamdi and Anas Hasan.
The Popular Committee for Services in al-Ein refugee camp reported that the operation is considered the largest in the camp since the beginning of the al-Aqsa Intifada in September 2000.
