Updated: On Tuesday, Day 655 of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces escalated attacks across the Strip, targeting displaced civilians and people in search of food. The bombings left at least 85 dead and dozens wounded.
Medical sources confirmed the deaths of four Palestinians, including two newborns and a child, due to severe malnutrition.
31 of those killed today were shot to death in the ‘gladiator arenas’ set up by US company GHF, where starving Palestinians are forced to wait hours in the blazing sun to fight for a small amount of food aid, while being shot at by Israeli soldiers and US mercenaries.
In Gaza city on Tuesday, Israeli forces killed 15 Palestinians, including six children and an ambulance driver, after bombing a residential home belonging to the Moshtaha family in the city’s northwestern area.
According to medical sources, the strike resulted in numerous injuries due to the presence of dozens of tents sheltering displaced families near and around the targeted house. The assault also destroyed an ambulance parked outside the residence.
At least 70 Palestinians were killed across various parts of Gaza during daylight and early morning hours on Tuesday.
In western Gaza City’s Nasr neighborhood, five Palestinians were killed and others wounded in Israeli bombardment.
Separately, 12 civilians waiting for aid convoys northwest of Beit Lahia were killed in another Israeli strike.
A drone attack in the eastern al-Tuffah neighborhood killed one civilian, while seven others, including three children, were killed in a separate strike that targeted a group of civilians in the al-Zeitoun area southeast of the city.
Israeli forces also shelled tents sheltering displaced families in al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, killing 16 civilians, including women and children, and injuring over 25.
Victims were brought to al-Shifa Medical Hospital in west Gaza, with medical staff describing their bodies as dismembered due to the direct impact of two artillery shells on tents housing starving civilians during sleep.
Elsewhere, a young man was killed while waiting for aid east of the Nabulsi junction west of Gaza. Four others died after an Israeli drone dropped an explosive near al-Hurriya School, which was housing displaced families in al-Zeitoun.
Two children were also killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Be’er al-Na’ja area in northern Gaza.
Israeli forces continued to demolish residential buildings in eastern parts of Gaza City.
In central Gaza, two civilians, including a child, were killed and others injured in a strike west of Abu Helou School in al-Bureij refugee camp. Eight more civilians were killed in intensified bombardment on areas of Deir al-Balah, alongside a ground invasion by Israeli troops south of the city.
Israeli fire also killed five more civilians waiting for aid near the al-Shuhada junction. In al-Bureij, two brothers were killed by an Israeli strike on Block 12.
In the southern Gaza Strip, three civilians were killed by Israeli fire near Abu Hmeid roundabout in central Khan Younis. Additionally, two civilians waiting for aid were killed west of Rafah.
Jul 22, 2025 at 23:52: Over the past 72 hours, 21 children died due to malnutrition and starvation in various areas of the Gaza Strip. The deaths were reported at hospitals in Gaza, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, and Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.
Currently, 900,000 children in Gaza are suffering from hunger, 70,000 of whom have entered the malnutrition stage.
Also Tuesday, the Council of the League of Arab States called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, recognize the catastrophe and famine in the Strip, break the siege imposed on it, and ensure the delivery of aid. The Council also asked the two non-permanent Arab members of the Security Council, Algeria and Somalia, to continue working to hold an emergency session of the Security Council to issue a resolution obligating Israel to end the siege imposed on Gaza and allow the entry of humanitarian aid.
The resolution condemned Israel, the illegal occupying power, for transforming the Gaza Strip into a famine zone, subjecting the Palestinian people to deadly conditions, and using starvation as a weapon of war, a form of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, warned that the expansion of Israeli military operations in the central Gaza Strip, specifically southwest of Deir al-Balah, significantly increases the risk of serious violations of international law, including extrajudicial killings and forced displacement. He noted that Israel continues to strangle the remaining areas of the Gaza Strip with systematic strikes targeting civilians and humanitarian infrastructure.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Turk said that the airstrikes and ground operations “will inevitably lead to more civilian casualties and the destruction of homes, medical facilities, shelters, and community facilities.” He warned that civilians, who have been displaced repeatedly in recent months, “are now being forced once again to flee areas that were completely evacuated, towards geographical areas that have become almost nonexistent, where hundreds of thousands are crammed into impossible humanitarian conditions.”
Palestinian professional unions and popular federations on Tuesday issued an urgent appeal to professional unions around the world and international institutions to put an end to the systematic starvation policy practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities against our people in the Gaza Strip. The statement was signed by the presidents and secretaries-general of the following unions: the Bar Association , the Journalists Association, the Engineers Association, the Doctors Association, the Teachers Association, the Agricultural Engineers Association, the Women’s Union, the Veterinary Medicine Association, and a number of union and human rights figures.
They called for mobilizing unions worldwide to stop this ongoing crime and to call on international human rights and humanitarian institutions to assume their legal and moral responsibilities.

11:52 am report:
Seven Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded on Tuesday following Israeli strikes on Khan Younis, Rafah and Al-Bureij, in southern and central Gaza.
Three civilians were killed when Israeli shelling struck the area around Abu Humaid roundabout in central Khan Younis, as intense military operations continued across the enclave.
In Al-Bureij refugee camp, an airstrike targeted a family home belonging to the Abu Sill family, killing siblings Bashar Kamal Abu Sill and Bayan Kamal Abu Sill. Multiple others sustained injuries in what residents described as another massacre added to the growing toll on civilians.
Separately, two Palestinians, Mohammad Mazen Basaleh and Amer Sami Al-Suwairki, were fatally shot near the Shakoush aid distribution center north of Rafah, when Israeli forces opened fire on people seeking assistance.

Medical sources said more than 45 Palestinians were killed since dawn, and dozens more wounded, including children and 7 while seeking food.
Thirteen Palestinians were killed and over 25 wounded when Israeli artillery shelled tents sheltering displaced families in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, shortly before dawn.
The genocide continues to claim lives amid growing displacement and deepening food insecurity. The blockade has created conditions under which starvation is now a leading cause of death.
In Khan Younis, medical sources reported that two newborns, Yousef Al-Safadi, only 40 days of age, from northern Gaza and Abdul-Hamid Al-Ghalban from Khan Younis in the south, have died because of severe malnutrition and famine. In northern Gaza, a child, Ahmad Al-Hasanat, also died from mannitol in northern Gaza. Another death, due to malnutrition and dehydration was also reported.
Hospitals across the Gaza Strip are now dealing with hundreds of patients of all ages suffering from acute hunger and malnutrition, many in critical condition.
Medical teams report cases of extreme exhaustion and memory loss linked to prolonged food deprivation. The health system is overwhelmed, with a severe shortage of beds and medicines to treat the growing number of patients affected by malnutrition.
At least 17,000 children currently suffer from acute malnutrition. Some patients are experiencing cognitive impairments and fatigue caused by starvation, while the medical infrastructure remains incapable of managing the escalating crisis.
The director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex has revealed to Al-Jazeera that Israeli authorities are severely restricting fuel deliveries to the hospital, describing the supply system as “drip-fed.”
The dire shortage has forced the facility to shut down its dialysis unit in order to conserve the dwindling fuel reserves.
Hospital wards are now operating far beyond capacity, with bed occupancy exceeding 250%. Medical staff are physically and emotionally exhausted, having worked continuously for days without rest.
Several team members were admitted to the hospital themselves due to extreme fatigue and malnutrition.
The director expressed deep concern over the recent abduction of Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, describing it as part of a systematic campaign targeting Gaza’s healthcare professionals.
The doctor’s fate remains unknown, and staff fear for his safety following reports that Israeli forces shot at him during the arrest.
With resources stretched to the breaking point, the hospital has little to offer malnourished patients beyond basic intravenous solutions.
The director emphasized that the detention of Dr. Al-Hams is not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern of intimidation and disruption aimed at medical personnel.
Despite the escalating threats, the director affirmed the hospital’s commitment to remain operational. “We will not abandon our posts,” he said. “We will continue to treat our patients and the wounded, no matter the cost.”
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) previously warned that malnutrition rates among children under five have doubled between March and June due to the ongoing Israeli siege.
UNRWA’s clinics and health posts carried out nearly 74,000 screenings for nutritional deficiencies among children during that period, diagnosing around 5,500 cases of severe acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of critical cases.
People in #Gaza, including UNRWA colleagues, are fainting due to severe hunger. They are being starved.
Meanwhile, just a few kilometers away from Gaza supermarkets and shops are loaded with food and other goods.

The Director of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) issued a dire warning of potential mass death due to famine. Speaking to Al Jazeera, he stated Gaza has entered a critical phase, with widespread fatalities expected, especially among women and children. He noted rising numbers of severely malnourished patients arriving at health centers.
Among the most vulnerable are 60,000 pregnant women suffering from acute hunger and nutritional deficiencies.
In Deir al-Balah, two Palestinians were killed and several injured when Israeli forces bombed the al-Haker area. Medical teams also recovered the bodies of two Palestinians killed in a previous airstrike.
In Gaza City, the army bombarded tents housing displaced families in Al-Shati camp, killing at least six, including children and women, and injuring dozens.
Additional attacks targeted the Tuffah neighborhood and eastern Jabalia in northern Gaza, along with heavy fire in Gaza’s central district.
The army also continued rigging and detonating residential structures across northern Gaza, flattening entire neighborhoods.
Further south, medical sources reported seven Palestinians were killed and several wounded when Israeli soldiers opened fire on civilians waiting for food and humanitarian aid. The previous night, thirteen more were killed in the same area by occupation soldiers.
More than 1,021 Palestinians have been killed and at least 6,511 injured, in similar attacks since May 27, 2025, when the arenas were established by the Delaware-based (with shadowy funding sources and direct financial ties to Donald Trump) GHF Corporation.
In recent weeks, the main victims of Israeli attacks in Gaza have been starving people seeking food for their families, shot in the ‘Hunger Games’ style gladiator arenas established by the US corporation GHF, whose head, Johnnie Moore, is an evangelical pastor who believes in ‘Christian Zionism’, an end-times cult whose aim is to rid Palestine of all Palestinians in order to bring on ‘Armageddon/Revelations/Rapture’ in a bizarre mis-interpretation of the Christian Bible.

To this end, the GHF company has set up 4 gladiator arenas (replacing a distribution network of over 400 aid distribution sites, which was established by the United Nations decades ago amidst the Israeli siege and starvation campaign of 2006), where starving Palestinians must go, waiting for hours in the blazing sun while US mercenaries and Israeli soldiers bark out orders in English and Hebrew (rarely in Arabic) and when the Palestinians do not comply immediately, they are shot and killed.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot declared that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable, describing the events unfolding as a scandal that must end immediately. He emphasized the urgency of halting the Israeli military campaign and called for international accountability.
Barrot demanded that journalists be granted access to Gaza in order to document the reality on the ground and reveal the scale of suffering endured by its population. He stressed that press freedom is essential to exposing what is taking place.
Condemning the latest Israeli ground offensive, the minister stated that there is no longer any justification for the assault on Gaza, signaling France’s mounting concern over the intensifying violence and humanitarian collapse.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), stated that the conditions in the Gaza Strip have reached unprecedented levels of crisis.
The enclave is facing severe food shortages and rising malnutrition rates, while the aid entering the region remains insufficient to meet basic needs.
Survivors of the ongoing bombardment now face another dire threat: hunger. Approximately 2.1 million residents are confined to just 12% of Gaza’s territory, with limited access to food, clean water, or shelter. The overcrowding and scarcity are intensifying human suffering by the day.
Hospitals, already overwhelmed by successive waves of wounded patients, are collapsing under pressure. Many are operating without essential supplies, further straining an already devastated healthcare system.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s attacks have resulted in the killing of at least 59,029 Palestinian citizens, most of whom are children and women, and the injury of 142,135 others, in a preliminary toll, as large numbers of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, amid a complete inability of rescue and ambulance crews to reach them due to the direct and continuous targeting of the Palestinian civilian population.
