On Monday September 28th, day 724 of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli forces continued their relentless assault on Gaza City and northern Gaza, bombing numerous Palestinian civilian homes, killing at least 33 (as of 3 pm), although the actual death toll on Monday may be mich higher, due to a loss of communications with many parts of Gaza City and northern Gaza.
This was the last documentation from inside Al-Shifa Medical Complex at midnight yesterday: staff confirmed the hospital was still running, receiving patients, and sheltering displaced families.
Soon after, the Israeli army launched its assault on the hospital, and all contact with the medical team was lost. Israeli tanks had been seen firing near the hospital, where hundreds of patients and displaced families remain.

A child was killed by occupation forces’ bullets on Monday evening, while the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza City, witnessed extensive and mechanized military movements.
Medical sources reported the death of the child Abdul Rahman Azzam Abu Assi (12 years old), as a result of a gunshot wound in the Morag area, north of the city of Rafah, bringing the number of martyrs in the southern Gaza Strip to 6, including 5 aid recipients.
In this context, the occupation forces carried out a “ground military maneuver” in the heart of Gaza City, advancing from the eastern and northern axes to the Al-Sahaba Junction on Al-Jalaa Street, and also penetrated into Al-Nasr Street for a distance of approximately 200 meters from Al-Shifa Hospital, one of the most prominent health facilities in the Strip. In parallel, other units moved from the southern side to reach the Fares Petroleum Station in the university area, in a move aimed at imposing a military cordon around Al-Shifa Hospital.
Earlier today, medical sources in Gaza announced that the toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip, since October 7, 2023, had risen to 66,055 killed and 168,346 Injured, noting that many victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, while ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them until now.

10:54 AM REPORT
Throughout the night and early morning hours, at least 25 Palestinian citizens were killed and dozens more injured, in the Israeli occupation’s continuous bombing of the Gaza Strip, especially in Gaza City, which has been witnessing violent bombing, bombing, and bombing of towers and residential buildings for days, and the incursion of military vehicles from several directions.
13-year-old Ahmad Muhammad Al-Sharif from Gaza City died due to severe malnutrition because of the ongoing Israeli siege on the Strip.
7-month-old baby Tasneem Abu Warda is currently fighting for her life as the Israeli siege blocks her from any nutrition to live.
Grieving families bid farewell to six victims who were brutally slaughtered last night in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.
Wafa news correspondents reported, citing local sources, that rescue crews recovered the bodies of 9 Palestinians who were killed by Israeli occupation army fire on Al-Nasr Street in Gaza City.
The same sources added that the Israeli occupation forces target the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, and prevent access to it, in an effort to encircle the area and force citizens to flee, despite the seriousness of the field conditions.
The Israeli occupation army continues to detonate car bombs in Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City, where it has continued for days to target the camp by air and land, resulting in massacres that claimed the lives of dozens of civilians.
One citizen was killed and 9 others were injured in the Israeli bombing of a tent housing displaced people north of Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip.

Ismail Thawabta, Director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, confirmed Monday that Israeli forces continue to carry out systematic crimes against the healthcare sector in the Gaza Strip.
He reported that since the start of the genocide on October 7, 2023, there have been 788 direct attacks targeting medical facilities and personnel.
Thawabta stated that Al-Helu Hospital, located in western Gaza City, was struck by two shells, resulting in a complete internet blackout and the isolation of the facility. He described the incident as a deliberate attempt to sever the hospital’s connection to the outside world and deny civilians access to medical services.
He further emphasized that Israel is intentionally destroying the remaining healthcare infrastructure in Gaza, directly targeting hospitals and medical centers in what he described as a full-fledged war crime under international law.
The death toll among medical personnel since the beginning of the genocide includes 1,670 fatalities among healthcare workers and the destruction of 197 ambulances, severely undermining emergency response capabilities and efforts to rescue the wounded.
Israel’s assault on Gaza’s health sector is inseparable from Israel’s broader policy of targeting civilians and vital infrastructure, Thawabta stated and called on the international community to take urgent action to protect hospitals and medical staff and to ensure safe corridors for the delivery of medical equipment and emergency supplies.
Gaza’s health system is facing near-total collapse amid the ongoing blockade, the denial of medical aid, and the rising number of wounded and sick. Most hospitals have been extensively damaged, making surgeries and treatment nearly impossible.
Earlier Monday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the loss of contact with medical staff inside the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
The hospital remains under siege due to continuous Israeli bombardment, rendering access for patients and the injured nearly impossible.
The ministry confirmed that 12 newborns remain trapped inside the complex, facing life-threatening conditions. Israeli drones have reportedly targeted the hospital’s perimeter, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
On Sunday, Israeli warplanes launched intense airstrikes on Al-Shifa and its surroundings—known as the “fire belt”—targeting a residential tower and several homes as part of what officials described as a policy of total destruction in Gaza City.
Israel has now killed at least 66,005 Palestinians and wounded 168,162 since October 2023, the majority of whom are children, women, and the elderly. Thousands more remain missing, largely under the rubble, since October 7, 2023.
