Crowds in the southern West Bank city of Hebron gathered Tuesday evening to lay to rest Ahmad Ribhi Al-Atrash, 35, who was shot and killed two days earlier by an illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizer at the entrance to the city.

The funeral procession began after the body was released at the Tarqumiyah Israeli military roadblock, west of Hebron.

From there, it was transferred to Al-Ahli Hospital for legal documentation. Al-Atrash’s family then received his body at their home in Abu Sneina, a neighborhood in southern Hebron, where they bid him a final farewell.

The funeral prayer was held at Abu Aisha Mosque in the municipal district, followed by burial in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Wadi Al-Hariya.

Ahmad’s killing underscores the growing threat posed by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers in the occupied West Bank.

His death is part of a broader pattern of serious colonizer violations targeting Palestinians with impunity, often under the protection or coordination of Israeli military forces.

Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 230 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 42 children and 6 women.

Since the beginning of the year, occupation forces and illegal settlers have killed 79 Palestinians in Jenin, 41 in Nablus, 29 in Tubas, 20 in Hebron, 18 in Ramallah, 17 in Tulkarem, 9 in Bethlehem, 7 in Jerusalem, 6 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho, according to the Shireen Observatory.
