Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of invasions across the occupied West Bank, including  Jerusalem on Sunday, abducting numerous Palestinian civilians and assaulting others, while also deploying toxic tear gas that left several residents injured.

In Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, Israeli forces invaded the town and stormed several homes. Former political prisoners Mahmoud Ibrahim Thawabta and Essam Hussein Deeriyya were abducted, along with Essam’s brother Ibrahim, in addition to Mohammad Ahmad Abu Yabes.

In a coercive tactic, they detained Wafi Yousef Ali Deeriyya to pressure his brother Bara’ into surrendering himself, which he did at the western entrance of the town.

In Sheikh Jarrah, occupied Jerusalem, a young Palestinian was abducted after being beaten by soldiers at the western entrance of the neighborhood. In a separate incident, Mousa Fatafta, a Jerusalemite, was abducted while leaving Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In the Nablus district, in northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded the village of Surra, stormed homes, and abducted three residents: Mohammad Nabil Ghanem, Yamen Khaled Turabi, and Mohammad Imad Ghanem, one of whom was injured during the assault.

In the nearby village of Tell, soldiers abducted Mohammad Nimir Asida after storming his home. Later, in Balata refugee camp east of the city, closed streets and searched several buildings.

Meanwhile, in Mikhmas, northeast of Jerusalem, residents suffered suffocation injuries on Saturday evening after the soldiers fired dozens of gas bombs and concussion grenades during an invasion of the village. Several civilians were treated for gas inhalation.

These coordinated invasions and abductions highlight the ongoing campaign of repression by Israeli forces across the occupied territories, while employing collective punishment tactics such as home invasions, beatings, closures, and destruction.
