A Palestinian man was injured on Monday evening during protests that erupted after Israeli occupation forces invaded the area surrounding the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, leaving behind scenes of devastation and destruction.

Media sources reported that large numbers of Israeli forces stormed the refugee camp, firing heavy barrages of stun grenades and tear gas toward residents’ homes and groups of youth, resulting in the injury of one man.

During the invasion of Qalandia, the soldiers stormed homes and residential buildings and forced the families to leave, in addition to occupying buildings overlooking the refugee camp to use their rooftops as firing posts and monitoring towers.

The invasion expanded to include the nearby town of Kafr Aqab and Airport Road, where military vehicles spread throughout the main streets and continued firing concussion grenades and tear gas.

The Israeli army also attacked Palestinian journalists and prevented them from reporting on the ongoing invasion.

According to a statement from the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli forces also invaded several residential buildings in the area and forcibly evacuated some of them.

Soldiers and snipers took up positions on balconies and rooftops of high‑rise buildings while continuing to fire tear gas, stun grenades, and live and rubber‑coated rounds.

The invasion also included issuing fines to numerous Palestinian vehicles and deliberately damaging others.

At the same time, Israeli forces deployed heavily along Jerusalem Street adjacent to Qalandia refugee camp and positioned themselves along Institute Street and Airport Road.

Military bulldozers removed sections of the illegal annexation wall at the end of Airport Road, facilitating the entry of dozens of military vehicles stationed around the former Jerusalem International Airport grounds, along with dozens of infantry soldiers.

Field reports indicate that Monday’s invasion is part of a broader military campaign carried out by Israeli forces in the northern areas of occupied Jerusalem.

Earlier Monday, Israeli forces invaded Qalandia refugee camp and Kafr Aqab, abducting former detainee Samid Affana after breaking into his home.

The soldiers abducted another young man after detaining and assaulting him in Kafr Aqab, causing various cuts and bruises.

It is worth mentioning that a large military force accompanied by two bulldozers invaded the vicinity of Qalandia refugee camp and the main road of Kafr Aqab before demolishing several shops and commercial structures.

Reinforcements were deployed around the former Qalandia Airport area, where schools were closed due to road closures and movement restrictions. Troops also attacked a Palestinian vehicle at the entrance of the Qalandia refugee camp, causing damage.

The campaign aims to impose tighter security control over neighborhoods located behind the illegal annexation wall, particularly Qalandia refugee camp and Kafr Aqab, which in recent months have faced escalating invasions, road closures, and intensified military restrictions.

This escalation seeks to tighten Israel’s grip on the area, restrict Palestinian movement, and create continuous pressure on residents, as part of ongoing policies designed to strip Palestinian communities around Jerusalem of the conditions necessary for stability and daily life.
