The News Cast
Israeli troops detained on Monday 13 Palestinian civilians during morning invasions targeting West Bank communities.
Invasions were reported in the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron, southern West Bank as well as Qalqilia in the north. Three children were among those detained on Monday Palestinian sources reported.
Four men and three children were taken by troops during house to house searches in Hebron and the nearby town of Beit Omer. Five other civilians were taken from Bethlehem and Qalqilia.
Also on Monday the Israeli army has dismantled five settlers’ homes near Nablus city, northern West Bank. Israeli media said that the military demolished the homes because they lack state permission. Meanwhile settlers bulldozed farm lands owned by Palestinian farmers near Nablus.
Elsewhere two Palestinian teenagers were arrested ion Monday after they entered the Egypt via a tunnel at the borders with the Gaza Strip.
Rami Abu Mustafa, 17, and Mahmoud Al Alawi, 16, told Egyptian police that they entered Egypt to work in smuggling food through the tunnels into the Gaza Strip.
A Palestinian man was arrested on Sunday after he entered Egypt via tunnels, local sources reported.
Since Israel started its siege on the Gaza Strip back in June of 2007 the tunnels became the source of much needed supplies to the 1.5 million Palestinians living in the costal enclave.
