Israeli occupation authorities forced four Palestinian citizens to demolish their homes on Saturday, in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the citizen Mohammad Shahada Qwaider was compelled to demolish his house in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Occupation authorities imposed severe fines against the Qwaider family home which was built in 2012. The family had paid 60,000 shekels of the total 85,000 shekel penalty, before embarking on the demolition on Saturday.
The family home, which measured 100 square meters was shelter for Mohammad Shahada Qwaider, his wife, and their six children.
Earlier Saturday, three brothers belonging to the Tahhan family were forced to demolish their homes in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood of Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the citizen Wael Tahhan and his two brothers were forced to demolish their homes, under the threat of financial penalties imposed on them by the Israeli authorities.
The brothers were compelled to demolish three buildings, which were shelter for 25 citizens. Two of the buildings consisted of two floors, each measuring 200 square meters, while a third building consisted of one floor, measuring 120 square meters.
The three brothers embarked on demolishing their own homes after occupation authorities imposed fines totalling 280,000 shekels against them.
