Israeli occupation forces invaded a local election polling center in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, assaulting residents and injuring six Palestinians during an attack on Khallet Al‑Mayya area, east of Yatta in Hebron in the southern West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medical teams in Hebron treated six Palestinians who were beaten by Israeli soldiers after the army invaded the polling center designated for local council elections in Khallet Al‑Mayya. Medics provided all six with field treatment at the scene.

Media sources reported that Israeli forces invaded the village and fired stun grenades and toxic tear gas at residents, causing additional cases of suffocation from inhaling the gas. All those affected were treated on site. The sources added that soldiers also smashed several civilian vehicles during the invasion.

Khallet Al‑Mayya is part of a cluster of villages east of Yatta that includes six population centers: Khallet Al‑Mayya, Al‑Deirat, Erfa’eyya, Umm Lasfa, Al‑Boweib, and Umm Ash‑Shaqhan.
