Israeli airstrikes and ongoing ceasefire violations killed several Palestinians and wounded others on Wednesday across the Gaza Strip, as Israeli forces continued to target civilian areas in Gaza City, northern Gaza, and the central region despite the “ceasefire” agreement that took effect on October 11, 2025.

Medical sources reported that one Palestinian was killed and others were injured on Wednesday evening when Israeli warplanes targeted a group of civilians near the Jabalia parking area on Al‑Wehda Street in the Daraj neighborhood of central Gaza City. All casualties were transferred to Al‑Ahli Hospital.

Palestinian sources told Al Jazeera that the son of senior Hamas leader in Gaza, Khalil Al‑Hayya, was critically wounded in the Israeli airstrike that targeted the Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City.

Earlier in the day, two Palestinians succumbed to wounds sustained in previous Israeli strikes.

Medical teams confirmed the death of Khaled Mohammad Salem Jouda, who died from injuries caused by an Israeli strike in northern Gaza, while Mohammad Al‑Attar died from wounds sustained in an Israeli attack two days earlier at the intersection of Al‑Jala’ and Al‑Oyoun Streets in Gaza City.

In a related development, eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli soldier shot and wounded a Palestinian woman near the tents of displaced families in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces detonated several residential buildings inside what is known as the “yellow line” east of Gaza City, a zone that separates areas under direct Israeli military control from areas where Palestinians are allowed to be present. The yellow line extends across approximately 59 percent of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli artillery also fired shells toward the eastern areas of the Al‑Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, causing additional damage and panic among displaced families.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since dawn Wednesday had risen to nine, including four in northern Gaza, one in the south, and four who died from earlier wounds.

The ministry reported that Israeli violations of the “ceasefire” have now resulted in 837 Palestinian deaths and 2,381 injuries since the agreement began on October 11, 2025. It added that rescue teams have recovered 769 bodies from streets and bombarded buildings during this period.

According to the Ministry of Health, the cumulative toll of Israel’s assault on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,619 Palestinians killed and 172,484 wounded.

The ministry noted that the ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of a devastating Israeli campaign that destroyed nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at around $70 billion.
