Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire continued across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing nine Palestinians and injuring more than fifteen others in the latest series of attacks targeting displaced families and residential areas in the western, central, and southern parts of the besieged enclave.

Medical sources in Gaza City reported that eight Palestinians were killed and more than fifteen were injured when Israeli warplanes bombed a makeshift displacement site near the Al-Jawazat (Passport) Directorate area in the al‑Rimal neighborhood in western Gaza City.

Hospitals in the Strip later confirmed that nine Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes since dawn Saturday, eight of them in Gaza City.

Amid the intensified Israeli military escalation, local reports said a Palestinian man was killed at dawn when Israeli forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The slain Palestinian, Mohannad Othman Ferwana was killed after Israeli forces shelled his tent in the center of Khan Younis.

It is worth mentioning that Ferwana had been scheduled to celebrate his wedding to Asma’ Yousef Najjar later on Saturday.

Additional casualties were transported to Nasser Medical Complex after Israeli forces bombed a home belonging to the Zo’rob family in the al‑Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.

Another Palestinian was shot and injured by Israeli forces in central Khan Younis, while Israeli naval vessels opened fire toward the coastline of the city.

In the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis, Israeli forces fired illumination rounds as artillery shelling continued.

The army also heavily targeted the al‑Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip with sustained fire. Sporadic gunfire from Israeli armored vehicles was also reported in eastern Khan Younis.

In northern and western Gaza City, Israeli armored vehicles opened heavy fire toward several neighborhoods, while quadcopter drones fired live rounds at southern areas of the city.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said in a statement that it has documented a sharp rise in casualties, noting that the field situation during the first five months of 2026 reflects the continuation of a systematic genocide that “does not distinguish between civilian and combatant.”
