Israeli occupation authorities issued a military order Monday to seize 2,224 dunams of Palestinian land belonging to the village of Marda, in the Salfit governorate of the central occupied West Bank, citing what they call “military purposes.”
The targeted land lies in a strategic location along Road 505, directly north of the illegal colonial bloc of Ariel.
The Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission said the order, numbered T/36/26, targets land in Basin No. 3 of Marda village, specifically the areas known as Wadi Qassem and Kafif al‑‘Abhar.
The order transfers possession of the land to the commander of the Israeli occupation army through the official responsible for land affairs at the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

Maps attached to the order show that the plot lies immediately south of Road 505, at a junction leading to the area north of the Ariel colonial bloc, positioned roughly midway between Marda and Jamma’in.
The location provides an elevated vantage point over movement routes in the area, and the order states that the land will be used to establish a military communications tower or similar installation.
The Commission said the order is part of an escalating pattern in which Israeli authorities use “military seizure orders” to take temporary control of Palestinian land, reshape control over key roads and movement corridors, and reinforce infrastructure surrounding illegal colonies.
