Two Palestinians were shot with live ammunition, and eight others were injured in beatings early Sunday during an attack by illegal Israeli colonizers, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces, in the ar-Ras area of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its ambulance crews treated ten Palestinians, including two with live-fire wounds.
A 60-year-old Palestinian man was shot in the back and hand. Another Palestinian, 46, was shot with live ammunition and subsequently abducted by Israeli soldiers.
The PRCS added that eight Palestinians, including a 66-year-old woman, sustained bruises and contusions after colonizers and soldiers assaulted them. Local sources said the attack targeted Palestinians in the al-Ja’bari neighborhood of the ar-Ras area.
In related news, a group of colonizers harassed Palestinian families and surrounded their homes in the Khirbet al-Kharaba area, east of al-Samu’ town and south of Hebron.
In addition, colonizers and Israeli soldiers attacked Palestinian homes and detained several families in the Beit Einun area, northeast of Hebron.
The attack occurred amid an escalation in colonizer violence across the occupied West Bank.
The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that Israeli soldiers and colonizers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands and property in July, including 170 attacks in the Hebron governorate.
