Israeli occupation forces abducted at least 30 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, with military invasions concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, Qalqilia, and Tulkarem, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said.

The PPS said the latest campaign is part of an ongoing escalation in Israeli abduction operations targeting Palestinians across society.

The invasions were accompanied by violent searches of homes, destruction of property, field interrogations, and the detention of residents.

Among those abducted at dawn was Palestinian journalist Abdul-Rahman Hassan, who was taken from his home on Saff Street in central Bethlehem.

The organization warned that Israeli authorities continue to target Palestinian journalists through systematic abductions and attacks carried out while they are working.

The PPS also pointed to the ongoing killing of journalists in the besieged and devastated Gaza Strip, describing the current period as one of the deadliest for Palestinian media workers.

The PPS said the escalating campaigns are a central component of Israel’s policy of collective punishment against Palestinians, carried out through daily military invasions, mass abductions, intimidation, and abuse of abductees and their families.

The PPS added that the military campaigns coincide with increasing attacks by illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers against Palestinians and their property, particularly in areas subjected to repeated invasions and assaults.

The organization said these practices are part of a broader system of violence and coercion targeting Palestinian communities throughout the occupied territory.

The PPS said the continuing campaigns in Hebron, Nablus, Qalqilia, and Tulkarem reflect the widening scope of Israeli operations across the occupied West Bank.

The PPS added that Israeli forces continue to carry out daily abductions throughout the West Bank under a policy that, it said, has escalated dramatically since October 2023.

The PPS stated that the number of documented abduction cases in the West Bank has exceeded 25,000 since October 2023.
