Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian teen in Beit Ummar near Hebron, witnesses told Ma’an News Agency on Saturday. Mohammad Awad, local popular committee spokesman, said the youth, identified as Mohammad At-Teet, 16, was rounded up after Israeli troops broke into his home.
The troops also attacked a woman after she tried to stop them from arresting the young man.
Awad witnessed soldiers firing tear gas in the area to prevent anyone photographing the raid.
During the day, Israeli forces reportedly suppressed the weekly anti-wall protest in Beit Ummar. Earlier, the area was declared ‘closed military zone’ in a move to prevent activists from outside the town participating in the protest.
