Israel destroys a Palestinian village for the 39th time, meanwhile Netanyahu claims that keys to peace are very easy, these stories and m,ore, coming up, stay tuned.
Israeli police demolished the village of al-Araqib in the southern Negev desert. A number of bulldozers accompanied by police and military rolled into the village and encircled it.
The residents said that the bulldozers tore down the tents that they had pitched over their destroyed homes.
This is the 39 time Israel demolishes this village over the past two years and the residents continue to rebuild their homes.
While Israel says the residents are living on a state land, the Bedouin insist that this is their land and their ancestors land who lived on it for hundreds of years regardless whether the land was properly registered when Palestine was occupied by Britain in early 20th century or not.
In other news Palestinian medical sources in the West Bank city of Bethlehem reported, Sunday, that sixteen Palestinian workers were wounded when their van flipped over after Israeli soldiers chased them near the town of Husan.
The sources said that the workers suffered mild-to-moderate injuries, and were moved to a local hospital for treatment.
The workers said that they were trying to enter Jerusalem seeking work, as they did not obtain a permit from the Israeli military.
The workers said, after their van flipped over, soldiers assaulted them before handing them to the Palestinian security forces in Bethlehem.
Palestinians are not allowed into Jerusalem without permit issued by the Israeli military.
In the meantime, the Gaza-Egypt terminal in Rafah was re-opened late Monday morning after Egypt closed it on Sunday without prior notice.
Security sources in Gaza stated that Egypt closed the terminal on Sunday afternoon after allowing five truck-loads into the coastal region; eight more trucks were preparing to enter Gaza but remained the Egyptian side of the terminal after Egypt decided to shut it down.
The terminal has been closed repeatedly in recent weeks in the lead up to Egyptian elections for parliament and president.
In his meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said keys to peace are very easy and asked Putin to convey his willingness to meet with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Jerusalem or Ramallah to resume the stalled peace talks. Putin is scheduled to meet with Abbas on Tuesday in Bethlehem.
On his part, the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Riyad Al-Malki said that Netanyahu’s statements about the peace process are simplification of a very complex issue adding that on the ground Israel is violating all its commitments and obligations for peace.
