17 Palestinian kidnapped in various parts of the West Bank, meanwhile the Israeli military launches attacks into the Gaza Strip, these stories and more, coming up, stay tuned.
In Hebron this morning, the Israeli army completely shut down the old city. Israeli soldiers invaded the old city and fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at local youth who had earlier come under attack from armed Israeli settlers. Several people were injured.
Staying in the West Bank, a total of 17 Palestinians were kidnapped in different parts of the occupied territories today and transferred to centres for interrogation. In the city of Tubas in the northern part of the West Bank, soldiers raided several homes including that of Hamada Abu Salah, and stole NIS 9000 while the family were detained in a separate room
Elsewhere in the occupied territories, the Palestinian Authority salary crisis continues. Due to promised aid not being delivered, the PA has delayed paying government employees until today. They promised that 60% of civil servants salaries would be paid today. They reported that aid that had been promised from the US and Saudi Arabia has yet to arrive. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is due to visit Saudi Arabia in the coming days.
In the meantime in the Gaza Strip, Israeli military launched separate attacks on the cities of al-Shaja’yeh and al-Zaytoun . In the first attack, one Palestinian was killed and several others injured in an Israeli artillery bombardment and airstrike. Later in the day, a resistance fighter was killed and another injured in an Israeli airstrike.
In news from Israel, racist attacks against asylum seekers from Africa continued with an arson attack in West Jerusalem. Three Eritreans, including a seven-month pregnant woman suffered severe burns and smoke inhalations after what police claimed was a racially motivated attack in the early hours of Thursday morning.
In other news from Israel, a group of computer hackers calling themselves “Pirates Of Gaza, the Winds of Victory”, successfully hacked the website if the Israeli Knesset The group demanded that Israel halt its settlement activities in the West Bank, in addition to stopping the excavations under al-Aqsa Mosque. They published personal information about Israeli leaders and promised to publish more if the government continues the expansion of illegal settlements.
