Settlers continue to attack Palestinian in the West Bank while the Palestinian authority continues its preparation for the US president Obama visit to the region. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
Extreme right wing Israeli settlers attacked on Tuesday Palestinian cars near the northern West Bank city of Nablus casing damage.
Witnesses said that settlers from the nearby illegal settlement of Yetshar hurled stones at Palestinian cars casing damage to 18 cars. No injuries among Palestinians were reported.
In other news, the Israeli military court of Salem extended on Tuesday the arrest of journalist Mohamed Saba’nah for another week.
According to his lawyer the Israeli army demanded the extension inorder to provide the military court with evidence against Saba’nah.
Saba’nah was arrested last year by the Israeli military from his home in Ramallah, the army gave no reason for his arrest.
Meanwhile on Tuesday the Palestinian authority continued its preparation for the US president Obama visit later this week. While protests against the Obama visit to the Palestinian areas were reported in Bethlehem city and Ramallah.
A poll conducted by Near East consulting center showed that 77% of the Palestinians think that the Obama visit will not help in riving the stalled peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis.
President Obama visit will start on Thursday with a meeting between him and the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah city and a short visit to the Nativity Church in Bethlehem city on Friday.
