A Palestinian man in his 60s was injured, after a number of extremist Israeli settlers assaulted him near the main entrance of his village on Tuesday late night.

Palestinian sources said that Mahmoud Nofal was assaulted near Ras Karkar village, west of Ramallah, and was moved to the Palestine Medical Center surfing cuts and bruises to various parts of his body. The assailants sprayed the man’s face with pepper spray, before proceeding to beat him using batons.

Journalist Mohammad Nofal, a nephew of Mahmoud, said the attack took place in an orchard, shortly after seven in the evening, and that the attackers left him bleeding.

He added that his uncle managed to walk to the main entrance of the village, before locals saw him, and instantly moved him to the hospital.

Elsewhere, Israeli soldiers invaded, on Wednesday evening, Silwad town, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and clashed with dozens of residents before firing gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets and concussion grenades.

The clashes took place after the soldiers stormed dozens of shops in the town, and confiscated surveillance tapes; the search also caused excessive property damage.

It is worth mentioning that, three days ago, the Israeli military started surrounding the village, every single day, and completely sealing it from early morning hours until the evening.

In the Gaza strip, Several Israeli bulldozers, Wednesday morning, carried out a limited incursion to the east of Deir al-Balah, near Abu Mutabiq and east of Maghazi, in the central Gaza Strip.

The army opened heavy gun fire toward Palestinian agricultural lands, with no injuries reported. Israeli forces frequently carry out incursions along the border areas of Gaza, razing lands under the pretext of preventing any suspected resistance activities.
