Awni Habash, a judge at the Central Court in Jerusalem, sentenced a Jewish youth to two consecutive years, and 18 months on parole, after trying to burn an Arab taxi driver in Jerusalem.
The youth, who carried the attack out last year, said that he “doesn’t want to see Arabs in Jerusalemâ€Â.
The Israeli prosecution said that the you and two of his friends, all are students at a Yeshiva “Jewish religious schoolâ€Â, attacked the taxi driver, Majdi Oleyyan, threw fireworks in his car, and flattened its tires then stoned him and his taxi while he was trying to put the fire off.
Oleyyan fled away from the settlers, but they followed him and stoned him again.
The driver received 1500NIS compensation and 500NIS for bills, which is not enough to repay his damages and losses.
