Monday evening, members of the Palestinian police exchanged fire after a police unit arrested a policeman from another division; two policemen were slightly injured.
Police officials declined to comment on the incident.
The Policemen engaged in a short gun fight between each other in Gaza, which highlighted problems which emerged after the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ordered security reforms in the P.A, in order to restore law and order, and fight corruption.
Abbas appointed new security heads, and imposed forcible retirements of dozens of security men, including security leaders aged over 60.
P.A civil police force is responsible for maintaining general law and order, including issuing traffic fines.
