Parents of detainees imprisoned in Nafha detention complained that soldiers are humiliating them while they are trying to visit their detained family members, in addition to forcing them to wait under the sun for several hours until they are allowed into the prison compound.
The Bethlehem office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported that soldiers are barring the parents from brining clothes to their detained family members, in addition to searching them in a provocative way.

The father of detainee Khaled Riziq, from Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem, said that soldiers were humiliating the families, forced them to wait for long periods, and that some families decided not to conduct the visit after the soldiers attempted to search the women using direct body contact.

The wife of detainee Riziq Salah from al-Khader, near Bethlehem, said that the families leave their homes on visitation day before 4am, and are transferred from a checkpoint to the prison by old uncomfortable buses for several hours.

Visitation, which is only for a short period of time, once every fourteen days, requires in most cases 20 hours, which is the time consumed between leaving home, heading to the Israeli checkpoint, transfer by buses, visitation and the way back home.

Also, several detainees in Nafha detention complained that prison administration is barring them from applying to the Tawjihi exam, which marks the end of the school stage and prepares the students for university.

The detainees also demanded to be provided with more reading materials and books.

Qasem al-Azraq, the father of detainee Daoud, who is detained in Ramonim detention, said that he visited his son on Thursday, June 2nd, and saw the soldiers bringing his son along with other detainees while they were handcuffed, and tied together in a humiliating way.

Al-Azraq added that his son told him that the administration is using naked body searches, imposing fines on them, and are repeatedly breaking into their rooms.
