Upon political directives, Israeli security has allowed Israeli citizens to arrive into Gaza settlements during the Jewish Holydays and join settlers’ protests against the disengagement plan.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has issued orders to Israeli security heads to allow Israeli citizens to pay a goodbye visit to Gaza Strip settlements that are slated for evacuation during the summer.

Sharon’s directives were issued against the advice of Israeli security officials, who expressed concerns that thousands of visitors might attempt to stay in Gaza to take part in settlers’ resistance to the evacuation.

Israeli security sources said Saturday that preparation to receive thousands of Israeli citizens in the Gaza strip were completed, and that security forces will not pay the effort to ensure that visitors will leave the Palestinian Strip by the end of the holyday.
