U.S. President George W. Bush will insist that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas dismantle all “terrorist” networks in Palestinian areas, said U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

"The president will be clear that there are commitments to be met, that there are goals to be met." Rice said in a speech Monday at a policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

She said Israel had obligations, and should not take measures that hiders final status issues.

Rice also said that Bush will build with Abbas "a relationship that is based on the good faith that only democratic leaders can bring."

No compromise on democracy.

Rice also said, Bush will tell Abbas in their meeting on Thursday that "democracy is a goal that is unassailable and incontrovertible."

"America and Israel had tried before to gain peace where democracy did not exist and we are not going down that road again," she said.
