The Palestinian Ministry of the Interior and National Security reported on Monday that General Jamal abu Zayed, deputy minister of the interior, and Israeli Defense Ministry Deputy Director General Moshe Kaplansky met late Sunday night in Jerusalem

The two officials discussed the appropriate means to coordinate the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank areas.

The two sides discussed detailed maps regarding the pullout and other security arrangements, in addition to agreeing to hold further meetings during the coming week, according to the Palestinian Authority ministry.

Israel will start the first stage of the pullout plan in mid-August by evacuating settlers from the settlements of Morag, Nitzanim, and Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip.
