Israeli online daily Haaretz reported that the Tel Aviv District Court ordered the remand of two brothers, apposed to the pullout plan, until the end of legal proceedings against them.

The two brothers are charged of plotting to burn vehicles on a major highway.

“Elitzur and Harel Lonstein are accused of acting out of ideological motivations; they and another man identified as Avraham Lebkovitch forged license plates on two cars and attempted to burn them on the Ayalon highway in Tel Aviv”, Haaretz reported.

The plan was not carried out as a result of a technical error, and the police was able to arrest them.

The defense asked the court to release them to house arrest, National Religious Party lawmaker, Gila Finkelstein, spoke in their favor but the judge rejected the request and said that they “constituted a threat both before and following the disengagement”, which makes appeals for their release baseless.
