Two Palestinian fighters were killed on Sunday at night, after Israeli soldiers engaged in a gun battle with resistance fighters after surrounding a home in Tulkarem refugee camp, in the West Bank city of Tulkarem, one soldier was lightly injured.
One of the killed fighters was identified as Majed Al Ashqar. Army claims that the second fighter was killed after running from the home and firing at the soldiers.
A local source in the camp reported that soldiers surrounded a home in Marba’at Hanoun neighborhood and exchanged fire with fighters of Al Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fateh, and Al Quds brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad.
Soldiers used loud speakers calling the fighters to surrender, a local source reported.
The source stated that at least five armored jeeps, along with under-covered army units, invaded the camp and surrounded the home before exchanging fire with the fighters.
Military helicopters were also seen flying over the camp during the invasion.
