A Palestinian medical source in Gaza reported on Sunday that a body of a Palestinian resident was located in Al Nowam area, near Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The source stated that the resident was killed after Israeli tanks opened fire with automatice weapons at a resistance group in the area.
 
The resident was identified as Loqman Abu Thikra, 23. His body was transferred to Kamal Adwan hospital.
 
The resident was killed during a gun battle which took place between the army and the resistance, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
 
The Al Quds Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, and the Salah Ed Deen Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, and Abu Mas’oud Brigades, one of Fateh’s military wings, claimed joint responsibility for attacking a military post in an area close to the borders.
