Israeli soldiers shelled on Sunday several areas in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, causing considerable damage; no injuries were reported.
The shelling comes while no homemade shells were fired at Israeli towns or targets in the Negev since several days.
In a separate incident, Member of Knesset Matan Vilnay (Labor) said on Sunday that "Israel has no choice but to carry a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.
