Despite of Israel’s decision to halt its military operations  in the  Palestinian territories ahead of Wednesday’s legislative elections, Israeli  troops arrested eight residents claimed to be  wanted in a series of predawn invasions  in the West Bank on Tuesday,
 
Among the arrestees were Mahmoud Abu Rob, the Islamic Jihad leader in the southern Jenin area, and Abdallah Arrar from the West Bank city of Ramallah, a Hamas activist, claimd to be mastermind of the abduction and killing of the Israeli settler Sasson Nuriel in 2005.
