Israeli troops stationed at Taiaseer  checkpoint, east of the West Bank city of Tubas, are closing the checkpoint since early morning hours on Wednesday, and holding scores of residents there.

Soldiers barred the residents from entering or leaving Tubas, a move which barred dozens of students and employees from reaching their schools and jobs.

Also troops thoroughly searched civilian cars and checked passengers ID cards.

There are more than 300 cars currently lined-up at the checkpoint awaiting inspection, eyewitnesses reported.
