The International Solidarity Movement for Human Rights reported that chaos and insecurity in the Palestinian territories has significantly increased and targeted civilians, lawyers, journalists, physicians,  judges, and teachers. 74 residents were killed since the beginning of the year until May 15; a total of 171 residents were killed in 2005.

The attacks included abductions, breaking into institutions and burning them, usage of explosive charges, random usage of arms, and blocking roads.

The motives behind these attacks were revenge acts, family conflicts, political conflicts, and improper use of arms.

The ISHR stated in its report that insecurity is the biggest issue that threatens the residents, their security and their social, economical conditions.

Israel’s policy of closures, isolating the Palestinian territories has significantly increased the level of chaos and insecurity in the Palestinian territories.

The ISHR calls on the political movements, the residents, and the local organizations and institutions to be effectively involved in the efforts that aim to end the critical level of chaos in the occupied territories, and to expose every person who uses his political position in order to cover-up for those who commit these acts.

In 2005, 171 residents were killed in several incidents of insecurity and chaos; while 74 residents were killed since the beginning of the year until May 15, which shows clear escalation of violence and insecurity.
