Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli detention center of Qadomem east of the West Bank city of Tulkarem have announced a hunger strike in protest to their conditions in the detention center, on Wednesday.
The prisoners have informed the Palestinian Prisoner Society’s lawyer of their hunger strike and have said that it comes as a protest against the harsh medical conditions, the bad food and the interrogation methods used by Israeli jail guards The interrogation methods include beating the prisoners, forcing them to remain standing for long hours and subjecting them to sleep deprevation.
The prisoners said that the jail administration are not allowing most sick prisoners medical care and that if medical care is given, the care does more harm than good.
