Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses said that at dawn Monday Israeli Apache helicopters hit the home of Sheikh Mohammed Dib in Gaza City’s Beach Refugee Camp. Palestinian medical sources said the Israeli aerial bombardment injured two Palestinians with shrapnel wounds, while a home owner is suffering from panic. All three are currently hospitalized.
Israeli forces destroyed homes in the western Gaza City camp. The International Red Cross reported that several families rushed from their homes in panic when the bombs hit, but only one suffered such a severe case that he required hospitalization.
An Israeli military spokesperson said Sunday evening that they would begin bombing homes they believed to be “used for manufacturing or storing” homemade projectiles used by the armed resistance. The Israelis blamed the Palestinian government and began firing into the refugee camp just hours later.
