The Association of Palestinian Refugees in Europe is calling upon the European Union, the United Nations, and the international community to move forthwith to protect the Palestinian people and call to implement international resolutions concerning Palestine, in particular UN Resolutions 181, 242, 338, and 194.
The statement issued Tuesday calls to ensure the implementation of the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes (UN Resolution 194) and properties lost by expulsion from Israeli forces when the occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem began in 1967, and those homes lost to the Zionist gangs who ran amok, destroying entire villages. Real and just compensation for years of suffering and loss of land and property is required.
The Association of Refugees strongly denounced the continual Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and against Lebanon. They wrote that the call includes, “All components of humanitarian, cultural, and civil life. We issue a clear and explicit challenge to implement the multiple decisions of the international community disregarded by the international community with the support of the United States. We denounce any acts of Israeli aggression against the Lebanese people, its geographical makeup, its presidency, government, and members of its resistance.”
The Arab League’s silence in the past weeks of major Israeli attacks on both the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, while the process of oppression and occupation continues to destroy the West Bank, surprised the Association of Palestinian Refugees in Europe which suggested that some Arab governments are complicit in creating a clear political cover for this aggression.
