On Friday, the Israeli army continued its bombardment and shelling of various parts of the devastated, starved, and besieged Gaza Strip, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians.
In less than 24 hours, the Israelis bombed 3 schools & a desalination plant in the same area of Gaza City — 18 children were murdered, among others.
Dr. Mahmoud Abu Amsha, an Egyptian doctor volunteering in Gaza and a general physician at the Indonesian Hospital, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Jalaa Street. Despite the siege and ongoing genocide, he refused to leave northern Gaza, continuing to treat patients until he gave his life for it.

Juliette Touma, UNRWA’s Director of Communications, highlighted in a press release that the six-week blockade has pushed Gaza’s critical resources to the brink of total exhaustion.
Touma underscored the dire consequences of the suffocating siege, stating, “The escalating humanitarian crisis means infants and children face the harsh reality of going to sleep hungry.”
She added that the crisis is further compounded by soaring prices for the limited goods available in Gaza, intensifying hardships for its residents.

Touma warned, “Without immediate access to basic necessities, Gaza inches closer to a state of devastating hunger every single day.”
Touma also called for an immediate ceasefire, the lifting of the siege, and unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid and commercial goods to prevent further devastation.
In related developments, the Israeli army announced that it has established full control over the “Morag Axis,” completing the encirclement of Rafah.
Reports indicate that Israeli forces have entirely surrounded the area and are working to incorporate Rafah into a designated buffer zone under Israeli control.
This move is part of an intensified military campaign in southern Gaza, aimed at isolating Rafah from the rest of the Gaza Strip. The offensive includes significant reinforcements, such as infantry units, armored vehicles, and heavy machinery, deployed to enforce the isolation and expand the proposed buffer zone.
The ongoing military offensive has involved the demolition of dozens of homes and the widespread displacement of Palestinian residents.
Israeli occupation authorities have stated that the buffer zone is intended as a “security measure,” further restricting access to the Gaza-Egypt border and its surrounding areas.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed at least 50,932 Palestinians, including 15,613 children, 9,804 women, 3,851 elders, 234 journalists, and 23 medical staff. More than 115,875 Palestinians, primarily children, women, and the elderly, have been injured.
