Israeli military and medical sources reported on Sunday that Hezbollah fighters fired, on Sunday afternoon, Katusha shells at soldiers in an open area in the northern settlement of Kfar Giladi killing twelve Israeli soldiers, and injuring thirteen, four seriously and four moderately.

One of the shells landed among soldiers as they gathered close to Kfar Giladi settlement, near Kiryat Shmona, the sources added.

Hezbollah gunmen also fired a barrage of shells at the settlement causing considerable damage.

Israeli Television, Channel 10, reported that Keryat Shmoneh settlement is subjected to heavy attacks by Katusha shells and that the residents are continuously staying at the shelters.

Israeli online daily, Haaretz, reported that 40 rockets landed in Kiryat Shmona, one of which hit a factory, 17 shells landed in areas around Safad, four in the area of Carmiel, fifteen near Nahariya, fourteen hit the Golan Heights, nineteen hit Ma’alot, four in Acre and one in Rosh Pina settlement.
