Nassem Al Khzari, 32, was taken prisoner by the Israeli army during an incursion into the West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday morning.
Army vehicles and troops entered the city and conducted a wide scale search, ransacking residents' houses in several areas in Nablus before taking Al Khzari to an unknown location.
At Howwara military checkpoint south of the city, Israeli soldiers stationed there opened fire at residents and stopped anyone less than 35 years old from entering or leaving the city, the soldiers also stopped and searched civilian cars.
