Palestinian sources reported on Friday evening that dozens of Israeli
armored vehicles and tanks invaded an area north-west of Beit Lahia, in
the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The vehicles, estimated by twenty, and supported by several Israeli helicopters and jets, advanced for a distance of thirty kilometers into the area and shelled agricultural farmlands and hothouses, local sources reported.

On Friday at night, soldiers invaded Al Fakhary area east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip and took twenty residents prisoner, Palestinian local and security sources reported.

Soldiers broke into dozens of homes and searched them after forcing the residents out and interrogated some of them.

Earlier on Friday, soldiers shelled with heavy artillery several agricultural areas close to several houses in the Bedouin village, north of Beit Lahia and east of Beit Hanoun; damage was reported, no injuries.
