In a step to protest the ongoing Israeli invasion to the northern Gaza
Strip city of Beit Hanoun, several Palestinian cities went on strike on
Saturday, Palestinian sources reported.
In Ramallah and the near by Al-Biereh town, all stores closed their doors to protest the invasion of Beit Hanoun which entered the fourth day. At least 36 Palestinians have been killed in the past three days.
On the other hand, Israeli forces invaded the West Bank city of Bethlehem on Friday claiming they are targeting Palestinian resistance fighter.
However, in addition to the claimed wanted fighter, troops also killed a 17-yer-old man, and wounded two Palestinians in the city, a 70-year-old woman and 13-year-old child. The woman is in critical situation, while the boy is declared clinically dead, medical sources reported.
On Saturday, shops closed their doors to mourn two Palestinians killed in the town.
The White House described the Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip as self defense, claiming that it developed as a response to the launch of home-made Qassam shells by Palestinian fighters.
Palestinian resistance groups say they fire the Qassam shells to force Israel to end its military occupation to the West Bank which includes the removal of the annexation wall Israel is building on the West Bank land which expropriates almost 50 percent of the West Bank land.
Unites States official statements always tend to ignore the fact that Israel still illegally occupying the West Bank and regard Palestinian resistance attacks as a provocation, to which Israel has the right to respond as self defense.
