A Palestinian government source denied that a short meeting between
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismael Haniyeh
was held in Cairo, according to Palestine News Network.

According to PNN, a well-informed source said that what has been said on some media sources about Abbas meeting with Haniyeh and other Arab leaders in Cairo is completely untrue.

The source stressed that talks over forming a National Unity Government should be held in Ramallah or Gaza, not outside of Palestine, and also confirmed that the Palestinian internal dialogue has not resumed yet, pointing out that Hamas is not coming to dialogue until this moment.  The unnamed official also called for the continuation of the dialogue on the previously agreed upon basis and criteria.

Both parties have previously agreed to the principles and basis of the National Agreement Document put together by the Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
