Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, arrived in Ramallah on Saturday evening after a short visit to Jordan where he met King Abdullah of Jordan and held talks with him over the stalled peace process and the Fateh-Hamas clashes.

Both Abbas and King Abdullah are expected to hold separate meetings with the US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, on Sunday.  

Rice will first meet with King Abdullah in Amman before she travels to Ramallah for a meeting with president Abbas. Rice has already met with Israeli officials on Saturday.  

Abbas and Abdullah also held talks over the clashes between Fateh and Hamas member and discussed efforts to reduce the tension.  

The two leaders also discussed efforts to resume the stalled peace process between the Palestinians and Israel.  Abbas went to Jordan via a Jordanian plane the flew to Ramallah to transfer him to Amman.
