IMEMC received a copy of the press release in which Abu Amr expressed dissappointment when the AFP miss-quoted him allegedly saying that he welcomed the European Union decision to cooperate with non-Hamas ministers, while his statement was that he demands the EU to regard the Palestinian government as one bloc.

AFP ammended their report in the same day, the Ministry said, however repeated the same mistake the day after.

The agency reported that Abu Amr allegedly said that the new Palestinian Government recognized Israel during a press conference with his French counterpart, Mr. Philippe Douste-Blazy. However, the original statement of the Palestinain Minister said that the political profile of the unity governemnt stresses the recognition of the agreements signed by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) including he Oslo and the Declaration of Principles accords.
