Israeli military sources claimed on Saturday that soldiers arrested a Syrian resident who crossed into the Golan Heights on Friday. According to the sources, the man is suffering from serious medical problems and crossed the border seeking medical treatment in Israel.The army was initially alerted that an infiltration took place through the border and deployed a large number of soldiers and Border policemen along the border area.
Israeli online daily, Haaretz, reported that a local resident saw the Syrian man and reported to the area who managed to locate him.
Haaretz added that the man was unarmed, and that he “most likely did not intend to carry out any attack.
He was transferred to a police department for further interrogation.
