The Arab Israeli Kinaset( Parliament) member Dr. Talab Al Sani’ asked the legal councilor of the Israeli government to question the legality of the Public Security Service (Shin Bet) taping the phones of several Arab members of Knesset.
Dr. Al Sani’ refrained from declaring the names of those MKs. He said that the Israeli security services are using the case of the resigned Arab MK Dr. Azmi Bishara as a pretext to put the rest of the Arab Mks under survailance.
Israel accused Bishara of allegedly spying for the enemy, in this case Hezbollah, during the Israeli war on Lebanon in the summer of 2006.
‘The espionage on the Arab MKs is illegal and contradicts with the diplomatic immunity’ Dr. Al Sani’ stated.
According to the Israeli law the security forces can not put MP under survailance, unless presenting solid evidence proving the need of that and to get a court ruling. and the permission to spay will be only given by the court and the legal councilor of the Israeli government.
In related news Dr. Al Sani’ expressed his dissatisfaction to Israeli government and parliament members due to the way they handled the new illegal settlement post established in a stolen Palestinian house in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Dr. Al Sani’ said in a statement issued on Thursday ‘The government that does not act against the daily violations of the International Humanitarian Law committed by Israeli settlers in Hebron is not a government that is seeking peace.
The house in question was taken over by a group of settlers that claimed ownership of the house. The owner of the house, Mohammed Al Rojbi stated that he has all documents needed to prove his ownership to the house.
