The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) issued a press release slamming the latest Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip and the Wednesday killing of eighteen residents, including several children and a reporter.THE DFLP stated that the Israeli army shelled on Wednesday evening a vehicle which belongs to Reuters news agency and killed its cameraman Fadil Shana’a.
Reuters reported that its soundman Wafa Abu Mizyed, 25, was injured by a shrapnel and received treatment at a Gaza hospital.
The Front described this attack as an assaults against the freedom of press and as an attempt to bar the reporters from informing the world on what Israel is doing against the Palestinian people.
The Front expressed its solidarity with Reuters, the family of Shana’a, and all media institutions that are working in the area and reporting on the illegal attacks of the Israeli occupation.
It appealed the international community, the Arab and International Reporters Unions, to expose the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and the freedom of press.
